Often called the trucker jacket, the Type III was first introduced in 1960 as a replacement for the Type II, and featured higher breast pockets with a more angled shape, came up slightly longer in the body, and kept the hem adjuster tabs. The front pleats of the Type II are gone however, and in their place are the sharp V shaped seams that give these jackets their characteristic tapered fit. Still a ubiquitous sight right up until today, this jacket is a particular favourite of the Skinhead and Suedehead subcultures.

The TCB Type III is modelled after a 60s Type III, and so it features a slightly deeper collar, slightly longer pocket flaps, and a more fitted shape, than modern examples.
